DESCRIPTION
From the collection of muralists inspired by the Diego Rivera Caña de Azúcar mural.
In the chapter "The Blue House" of the book Leonora by Elena Poniatowska (Seix Barral, 2011), you can read the chronicle of the encounter between Rivera and the painter Leonora Carrington during a party at the famous house in Coyoacán.
Rivera, "known for his persistence in conquering women" confessed to Leonora that he had eaten human flesh.
Carrington, cigar in hand, stopped the muralist abruptly.
-Look, Diego, don't fuck around, I'm not a tourist, I'm English and Irish.
–And I'm an Indian.
