There are two main traditional dragons: European dragons, derived from the popular European traditions and mythology of Greece and the Middle East, and Eastern dragons, of Chinese origin, but also known in Japan, Korea and other Asian countries. The two traditions probably arose independently, but their development has influenced each other.
The word also appears in the Christian tradition: the Apocalypse refers to Satan as the great dragon, the ancient serpent.
The dragon has been the inspiration for great books that have been transferred to the cinema as well as novels and poems. Without a doubt, the dragon is one of the greatest and best known mythological beings in all of history.
